Mrs. Holly's Preschool Class was excited to dress up in costumes to go Trick-or-Treating! Happy Halloween!!

The October Students of the Month were able to play in pumpkins and discover similarities and differences in pumpkins of various sizes, colors and shapes!

The WMCSD Board of Trustees spent the day visiting schools and facilities. Breakfast was provided by the WES cafeteria staff and lunch was prepared by WSS Culinary Arts teacher, Libby Carson, and students. Student-led tours and activities were highlights of the day. TIGERStrong!

PARENTS: The MS Department of Rehabilitation Services will be presenting a series of webinars in October for National Disability Employment Awareness. The attached flyer lists the dates, times and registration links.

FROM THE WMCSD OFFICE OF SUPPORT SERVICES: Building Partnerships…Working Together Mississippi Parent Conference. This event will provide guidance and training for parents, teachers, advocates, and others as it pertains to children with disabilities. The conference will be held in person October 7, 2021 at the Hilton on County Line Road in Jackson. Guests will also have the option to attend virtually. We are excited to Welcome our First Responders to WES to celebrate our September Students of the Month! We have planned a First Responder Day experience for these students. We have scheduled the Winona Police Department, Winona Fire Department, Medstat, Mississippi Wildlife and Fishery, and our very own SRO officer to come and set up in the car rider line. Each student will be given an autograph book to get the autographs of these local heroes. Congratulations to our September Students of the Month! We will post pictures soon.

PreK classes and students who were chosen as Students of the Month for August enjoyed a program from The Museum of Natural Science. Pre-K students learned about reptiles and got to have a hands-on experience with an alligator! Students of the Month learned about the diet of owls by dissecting owl scat. It was a great learning opportunity for everyone!
