WMSD Police Department is constantly working to improve the safety of our students, staff, and visitors. SRO Michael Peeples recently completed the Basic SRO class in Columbus MS and the School Law class in Southaven. We’ve added staff with the addition of Doyle Moore as our new crossing guard at the Powell Street intersection. And we’ve added the OPENGATE weapon detection system to our district, allowing us to scan for any weapons on campus and extracurricular activities. Chief Burrell and SRO Peeples participated in training on April 5 at WSS with students and administrators.
