It’s a Great Day to be a Tiger!

WMCSD students and teachers are working hard to finish the 2021-2022 school year strong.  This year’s theme is TIGERStrong, and we have certainly lived up to that in many ways.  We would love to have you keep up with all that is going on in and around the district by checking out our webpage at and by following us on our social media pages on Facebook and Twitter.  Some of our upcoming events are listed below.

May 4 - Grades 4-6 Writing State Test.  Grades 7-8, English II State Tests

May 5 -  Grades 7-8, English II State Tests.  WSS Super Scholars visit Ole Miss.

May 6 - PTO Bingo night for grades Pre K through third grade. Junior high football jamboree at  

             Tiger Stadium beginning at 4:30pm. WSS Art Trip.

May 9 - Academic Awards Day at Winona Secondary (Jr High 2:00pm) (Sr High 6:00pm)

May 9 - 13 Senior Final Exams

May 10 - WMCSD Board Meeting 6:00pm.  Band Banquet  6:00pm.

May 11 - WSS Super Scholars visit MSU.

May 12 - WSS Athletic Banquet

May 16 - WES PreK Graduation 6:00pm

May 17 - 20 Final Exams

May 20 - Last Day of School for Students

May 21 - Graduation 10:00am Tiger Stadium

May 23 and 24 - Professional Development Days for Faculty and Staff


The Knox Gym roofing project is almost complete.  Drive by and look at how good the building looks with the new roof, gutters, and sign.  The Knox Property, excluding the gym, is available for use by individuals or organizations with WMCSD Board Approval.  You can pick up a packet to request use of the property at the Central Office.

The renovation project at Winona Elementary is making good progress with the first grade restrooms completed.  Work has begun on the third grade restrooms.  Be on the lookout for a video update coming soon from WCTC’s Digital Media students and Dr. Teresa Jackson.
