Tiger with mouth open

It’s a Great Day to be a Tiger!

WMCSD staff and students have gotten off to a great start in the new year! Teachers participated in professional development on January 4th while students enjoyed one more day of vacation.  With everyone back on the 5th, the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year got rolling.

Report cards were sent home on January 11th. Parents, don’t forget that you can check grades, attendance, and behavior on the ActiveParent website or app.  Also, keep up with important dates by visiting the district website at winonamontgomerycsd.com and our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

WMCSD schools and offices were closed on Monday, January 16th for the observation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Valentine’s Day is February 14th.  Winona Secondary will be accepting Valentine’s Day deliveries on February 14th from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.  Remember, no balloons are allowed on school buses.

February 20 is a holiday for staff and students.  Students will also be out on the 21st while faculty and staff return for professional development.

Reminder to parent regarding medications.  Due to recent changes at the state level, the WMCSD medication policy has changed.  We will no longer be able to administer over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol, ibuprofen, Tums, etc., without an order from your child’s healthcare provider.  If you know your child will need over-the-counter medications due to a medical issue, you must provide the medication in the original labeled bottle with a signed Medication Administration Authorization form from your child’s healthcare provider.

If you have questions, please contact the school nurse at your child’s school. Felisha Pitt, RN is the  Winona Elementary School nurse.  Call 662-283-4129 to reach her.  Skyla McIntyre, RN, is the Winona Secondary School nurse and can be reached by calling 662-283-1244.

The next regular meeting of the WMCSD Board is February 14, 2023, at 6:00pm in Wolfe Lab at Winona Secondary School.

The Power of Positivity is evident in WMCSD!
