Tiger with mouth open

It’s a Great Day to be a Tiger!

ACADEMIC PROGRAMMING Students and teachers are working hard to master grade-level standards by the end of the school year.  WMCSD uses programs such as STAR and ELS to provide us with benchmark assessments for our students to take at several points throughout the school year.  These benchmark assessments are so important as they provide teachers, students, and parents with valuable information about what students know and can do.

We are all looking forward to Thanksgiving Holidays which will be observed November 22-26. Students and employees will return to school on Monday, November 29.

OPERATIONS Come out and watch your Tiger teams excel at the sports and activities they love!  Our student athletes appreciate your attendance and support of their programs.  Your Tiger Football team is moving on to the 3rd round of the playoffs.  They will be traveling to North Panola on Friday, November 19th. The football field is located at 407 US-51 Sardis, MS. Tickets must be purchased through the GoFan app or online at https://gofan.co. Your Tiger Basketball teams are having a successful season so far.  Check out their schedule at winonamontgomerycsd.com.  Go, Tigers, Go!

COMMUNICATIONS Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook or Twitter.

HEALTH AND SAFETY   WMCSD currently has no students or teachers quarantined. This is outstanding news.  On November 9, 2021, with a 3-2 vote, the WMCSD Board of Trustees decided to make masks recommended, not required. The data collected from our employees was 60/40 to make masks recommended, not required while the data from parents was about 50/50.  The change was implemented Monday, November 15, 2021.  COVID-19 numbers are reported every Monday at 1:30pm on the WMCSD website.

I want to thank each one of you for your support of the WMCSD plan throughout the last two years.  Your support has allowed us to safely return to face-to-face instruction as quickly as possible without having to shut down or exclude entire grades or buildings.

TECHNOLOGY With the use of technology comes great responsibility that many students and parents are not prepared for.  We encourage parents to monitor their children’s devices regularly.

Stay healthy and choose joy! We are TIGERStrong!
