Great news for the Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District!
The Mississippi Department of Education recently announced that the Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District has been awarded $30,000 through the Mississippi Community Oriented Policing Services in Schools (MCOPS) Grant for the 2026–2027 school year.
The grant funding will help offset the salary of one School Resource Officer (SRO), reinforcing the district's ongoing commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
Under the MCOPS Grant requirements, the funded SRO must serve in an elementary or secondary school, spend at least 75% of their time on campus, and maintain all certifications and training required by the Mississippi Department of Education.

WMCSD is grateful for this investment in school safety and appreciates the continued support of the Mississippi Department of Education in helping create secure learning environments for students across the state.
