Winona Career and Technical Center is proud to announce that Assistant Superintendent Ms. Rana Mitchell has successfully secured a $55,000 AccelerateMS grant to support the Welding program.
The grant will fund the purchase of two additional welding stations and fume extraction systems, allowing WCTC to expand and modernize its welding lab with equipment that reflects current industry technology and workplace practices.
This investment will increase program capacity, enabling enrollment to grow from 13 students to an anticipated 20 students during the 2026–2027 school year. By enhancing hands-on learning opportunities and providing students access to state-of-the-art equipment, AccelerateMS funding will help ensure that WCTC students develop the workforce-ready skills needed to succeed in today's welding industry.
