Super Tiger News

It’s a Great Day to be a Tiger!

We are so excited for the new school year. We would like to extend a warm Tiger welcome to all our new faculty, staff, and students.  We can’t wait to see you along with all of our returning Tiger teachers and students! The beginning of the year tends to be stressful at times, but here is some information that may help make back-to-school a little easier.

This year’s theme for WMCSD is The Power of Positivity! We can’t wait to see all the ways that our students, families, and staff are going to incorporate the theme into their classes, activities, and events.

Meet the Teacher days are scheduled for August 2nd and 3rd. Please make sure to follow the schedule so this will be a smooth process.  Traffic is sure to be hectic so please be patient.

  • On August 2, students in grades 9-12 will meet teachers from 3:00-6:00pm.  Students in grades PreK - 3 will meet their teachers from 4:00-6:00pm.
  • On August 3, students in grades 7-8 will meet teachers from 3:00-6:00pm. Students in grades 4-6 will meet teachers their teachers from 4:00-6:00pm.

Our website has lots of great resources and information including a new feature with some really good parenting tips. You can check it out at www.winonamontgomerycsd.com.  You can also download our WMCSD app for iPhone or Android devices, and like and follow our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.

If you haven’t heard, Winona Elementary students do not need to purchase school supplies this year.  All of their supplies are being provided for them using ESSER funding.  Students are welcome to bring a backpack and lunchbox of their choice if needed.

Yes, COVID is still around, but it seems to be a strand that we can manage.  Students and employees are not required to wear masks. If you choose to wear a mask, it must be solid in color with no logos or designs. Please see our Return to Work and School plan and charts for more information.  Student attendance has been an issue since COVID began.  We are asking that parents help us stress the importance of daily school attendance.

WMCSD Student Handbooks are available on the website.  Click on the link to access the correct handbook for your child:  Winona Elementary or Winona Secondary.

The WMCSD dress code for students has been expanded to include black pants, shorts, skirts, etc. and blue jeans. Check the dress code for more detailed information.  It can be located on the website.

More good news for WMCSD students and families is that students will be eligible for free breakfast and lunch.  We still need every parent to fill out the meal application form since this will provide the district with the possibility of providing students with even more programs or services through increased federal funding.

Thank you for your continued support of all things WMCSD.  We are looking forward to a positively awesome school year!
