Super Tiger News

It’s a Great Day to be a Tiger!

There are five weeks left in the 2021-2022 school year.  This is the time of year that our students get to show what they have learned by excelling on their state tests.  Nearly every student in every grade has some type of assessment, so please encourage our Tigers to do their very best.

WES teachers and administrators are doing lots of things to encourage our PreK-6 Tigers to do their best on the required state assessments.  One event to kick off testing with the third graders was a parade which was very well attended.  Thank you to every parent, grandparent, and friend who was able to participate in this great event!  The third graders also walked through the halls of WES where their fellow students lined the halls to cheer them on before they settled into their assigned classrooms to take the reading test.

Our students and student athletes from Winona Secondary have visited with students to talk to them about the importance of doing their best on every test.  Some of these athletes also participated in the parade last week. Also, some awesome signs were made by the Winona Career and Technical Center’s Teacher Academy students.

Dress up days for testing have been a big hit.  We would love for families and community members to dress up and post pictures on social media to wish our students good luck on their tests.  We are also thankful for local businesses who have encouraged students by donating items and attending events.  A big Tiger thank you goes out to Winona Jr. Auxiliary, Sonic, Coca~Cola, and A&JS Events for supporting WES students!

WMCSD is excited about PreK and kindergarten registration which is April 27th from 9:00am  to 2:00pm and April 28th from 4:00 to 6:00pm. Please make plans to register your child on one of these two days as there are limited spots available.

The Knox Gym roofing project is almost complete.  Drive by and look at how good the building looks with the new roof, gutters, and sign.

The renovation project at Winona Elementary is making good progress with the first grade restrooms nearing completion.  Look for a video update coming soon from WCTC’s Digital Media students and Dr. Teresa Jackson.

The Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District would like all stakeholders (community, parents, staff, and students) to complete our comprehensive needs assessment survey.  Please use this link to fill out the survey. You may also access the survey by typing in the following address https://dashboard.educationresources-llc.com/#/district/cna/public/24nFIsEsiEJhYbmgJTHOluLVADn.  Thank you for your help in assessing our school district needs and giving us valuable feedback that we can use.

Stay healthy and choose joy! We are TIGERStrong!
