WMCSD Summer Learning Plan 2020

Who does this include? 

Students who will be in kindergarten through 12th grade in the 2020-2021 school year.

Where do we get the packets? 

Drive-thru Pick Up: 

WES - Packets will be passed out in the car rider line as scheduled below:

  • May 19 from 8:00-12:00 - students who were in PreK, kindergarten & 1st Grade

  • May 20 from 8:00-12:00 - students who were in 2nd & 3rd Grade

  • May 21 from 8:00-12:00 - students who were in 4th & 5th Grade & self-contained classes

  • Students who were in 6th grade will go to WSS May 19 from 3:00-6:00pm

 

WSS - Packets will be passed out in the Fairground St parking lot as scheduled below:

  • May 19 from 3:00-6:00pm - students who will be in Grades 7-8 

  • May 20 from 3:00-6:00pm - students who will be in Grades 9-10

  • May 21 from 3:00-6:00pm - students who will be in Grade 11-12

Where do we turn the packets in?

Contactless Drop Off: There will be turn in boxes open from June 1-30 at the school where you picked up the packet.

What can we expect?

WES - Packets for students entering grades K-6 will include:

  • Standards-based enrichment packets for English/Language Arts and Math

WSS -  Packets for students entering grades 7-12 will include:

  • 7th & 8th graders: Standards-based enrichment packets for English and Math

  • 9th graders: Pre-Biology & Pre-Algebra packets

  • 10th graders: Pre-Biology and/or Pre-Algebra and/or 10th grade English  

  • 11th graders: Pre-US History & Pre-ACT Math and English 

  • 12th graders: ACT Math & English

Why should we participate?

Learning is FUN and so important!  The packets have activities for enrichment and remediation.  We want you to show us what you know and can do.  You will earn points for your House Team at WES (Harimau, Kaplan, Macan, Shebeel) or toward the merit system at WSS.
