How to Search for Vacancies and Apply for Employment

To search for vacancies, go to the Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District website at www.winonamontgomerycsd.com, scroll over DEPARTMENTS, choose BUSINESS OFFICE > HUMAN RESOURCES > Vacancies. 

 To complete an application, scroll over DEPARTMENTS, choose BUSINESS OFFICE > HUMAN RESOURCES > Online Employment Application. 

 The Certified Application is for teachers, coaches, administrators, nurses, and all others who are required to hold a certificate.

 The Non-Certified Application is for instructional assistants, clerical staff, cafeteria staff, and all others who are not required to be certified.

Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District utilizes the online application program Applicant Tracking.  Applications must be completed online and may be kept active by the applicant.  Applicants will only be considered for positions for which they are qualified and to which they are attached.

When a vacancy occurs in a position within the Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District, the position will be posted in the online application system.  The appropriate administrator, director, or supervisor will review all active applications for the position and determine the best qualified applicants to be interviewed based on the information supplied through the application process.  Interviews will be conducted by the administrator, director, or supervisor or a panel he/she has chosen.  After interviews are completed, the individual or panel will determine the best qualified applicant to recommend for the position. 

Before a qualified applicant will be considered a Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District employee, the following items shall be on file in the Business Office:

  • Completed application
  • Mississippi License, if applicable
  • Transcripts, Diploma, Praxis Scores, WorkKeys Scores, if applicable
  • Three (3) letters of reference from superintendents, principals, or other supervisors whom you have worked with or who have first-hand knowledge of your character, professionalism, and ability to be successful at the position. If you are a first-year teacher, you may elect to use professors, student teaching supervisors, or cooperating teacher(s).

Senate Bill 2658 requires all new hire licensed and non-licensed employees to have a criminal background record check.  The Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District will perform the background check with the use of an electronic system.

New Employee Requirements

Upon notification of initial employment, employees will receive the following information from the Business Office or their Supervisor:

  • New Hire Employment Packet with necessary documentation
    • Two proofs of identification – Driver’s License, Social Security Card, other documentation
    • Verification of Teaching Experience Form, if applicable
    • Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 Form)
    • Tax forms – State and Federal
    • Health Insurance Application
    • Retirement Enrollment Form & Beneficiary Nomination Form
    • Life Insurance Application
    • Background Check Verification - Child Abuse Registry
  • Orientation to school district policies through the Employee Handbook
  • Information on payroll benefits and salary data
  • Explanation of job responsibilities

Substitute Teachers

Substitute teachers are needed at all Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District locations.  Applicants must be at least 20 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.   These positions may be for one day or for an extended amount of time.

To be considered for a substitute teacher position, the candidate must complete an online application and attach the application to the “Substitute Teacher” vacancy.  Principals have access to the list of applicants who have completed the process.  When the applicant is chosen to fill a vacancy, he/she will be contacted by the school and given a “Request for Fingerprinting” form that is signed by the principal.  The applicant will bring the “Request for Fingerprinting” form to the Business Office to be processed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1p.m to 3p.m.  At this time, the candidate will provide a copy of his/her social security card and valid driver's license or state issued I.D. along with $50.00 exact cash.  Once the background check results are received by the district with no incidents, the candidate’s name will be placed on the active list of substitutes for the district. 

Substitute teaching is not a full-time job. It is on an on-call basis only, thus, you are not guaranteed any specific number of days of employment.

Payment of background processing fees does not guarantee you will work.

Bus Drivers

Bus drivers are needed for routes in the Winona-Montgomery School District.  Full-time bus drivers are eligible for state funded health insurance.

To be considered for a bus driver position, the candidate must complete an online application and attach the application to the “Bus Driver” vacancy.  The Director of Operations has access to the list of applicants who have completed the process.  When the applicant is chosen to fill a vacancy, he/she will be contacted by the school and given a “Request for Fingerprinting” form that is signed by the Director of Operations.  The applicant will bring the “Request for Fingerprinting” form to the Business Office to be processed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1p.m to 3p.m.  At this time, the candidate will provide a copy of his/her social security card and valid driver's license or state issued I.D. along with $50.00 exact cash.  Once the background check results are received by the district with no incidents, the driver may begin work as directed by the Director of Operations.
